My name is Erette Bobbitt. I am the oldest of my two siblings, Dillon and Taylor Bobbitt. Erette is a family name. Erette is my Dad’s middle name and my great uncles first name. When I was two weeks from being born my soon to be mother and nanny or grandmother were talking about what to name me. While they were having the disscussion my papa or grandfather and soon to be dad were fixing the porch. While hammering down some of the boards, pictures fell from the impact of the hammering. When my mother was helping my nanny pick them up she saw a picture of a uniformed man and asked for his name….Erette and that is how my name came to be. Finding a deeper meaning for ny name Erette, is a task, I cannot find anything that defines where the name Erette comes from of means. If I could create a meaning it would be; Erette- misspelled and mispronounced. I did however find that the prefix -ette is a French feminine diminutives used to make masculine names feminine according to;(http://www.behindthename.com/glossary/view/diminutive). I also learned that their are 1 or fewer people named Erette Bobbitt in the USA and fewer then 1542 people with the name Erette according to http://ww2.howmanyofme.com/search/. Although Erette is an uncommon name and I don’t have one award or trophy with my name spelled right, I love it. It is always a good conversation piece when meeting new people. If given the choice I would not trade my name for any, I am and always will be Erette.
